Need someone to talk to?

Nightline is a confidential listening and information service for students. We operate from 8pm until 8am every night during term time.

Nightline is staffed each night by two trained volunteers; one male and one female when possible. All our volunteers are York students and include people from all disciplines and years.

Our organisation is based upon 100% confidentiality; volunteers are anonymous, we don't keep any records on individual callers and we won't ask your name.

We are a listening service and not a counselling service, so we won't try to tell you what to do. If you want to talk something over in a quiet and relaxed environment without pressure, or if you want a quiet cup of tea or coffee, Nightline is here for you.

In addition to information and listening, Nightline offers a range of welfare related items available free of charge. These include condoms (including non-latex and extra-strong), dental dams, lubricant, personal attack alarms and pregnancy tests.
