What you will be doing:
Rainbows are 5 to 7 year old girls that are part of the guiding family. Volunteers would help with the running of activities within the meeting and we are very open/flexible to what level volunteers want to be involved within this. Our meetings involve games, crafts, songs and other activities. Volunteers don’t need to come every week but need to be committed to what they say they will do.
Skills, Experience, Attributes Required:
No previous experience or involvements with guiding are needed. What is needed is enthusiasm and energy but no previous experience of working with children is needed either.
Restrictions:
Criminal check would be needed if the volunteer wishes to do this but this is provided through the association

CRB check required once the volunteer knows they wish to help with the group
Additional Training Offered:
A unit helper can progress and can train to become a leader. This could include first aid training, budget management, organisational skills and onto further things.
What expenses are covered:
There is nothing a volunteer needs to buy or have to do this post. If there is we can usually cover this with unit funds especially if the person wishes to become a leader.

What you will be doing:
helping out with all sorts of activities at weekly meetings with the girls (aged from 5 - 14 depending on group). Activities include crafts, games, songs, outdoor activities (such as canoeing, walking, camping), sports, circus skills, painting, cooking … and anything else that volunteers suggest! Pack Holidays, sleepovers, camps are also a possibility.
