Level of commitment: 1 to 2 hours per week/ fortnight
Length of Opportunity: Open Ended - ongoing

Location of Volunteering: Ryedale area. Malton, Pickering, Kirkbymoorside, Helmsley & Villages
What you will be doing:
One off: 1)Sitting with an older person to give their carer a break 2)Visiting an older person living alone to give companionship 3)Visiting residents of residential or nursing homes 4)Providing practical and emotional support to older people returning home from hospital (up to 6 weeks)
Skills, Experience, Attributes Required:
Good social skills, outgoing personality, listening skills
Restrictions:
Interview, take up 2 references and also do Criminal Records Burea Checks (CRB)
Requirements before volunteering:
2 references, CRB disclosure
Additional Training Offered:
Training sessions on specific subjects offered (e.g. depression, bereavement, abuse)
