► Vawards

You can now gain awards for volunteering! Find out how below:

Vfifty Award:

Where you volunteer and what you do is up to you - as long as you volunteer for 50 hours within 12 months, you're 16-25 and you live in England, you could get your hands on a vfifty award.

It's really flexible - you could do all 50 hours over a few weekends on one volunteering project, or do a few hours a week  on lots of different projects.

v defines volunteering as choosing to spend your time doing something which benefits other people (excluding your family), society or the environment - without getting paid for it. If you're doing this, you can apply for a vfifty award. It doesn't matter whether or not the organisation you volunteer for is "offering" the vinspired awards - you can apply anyway. Vimpact Award:

To apply for a vimpact award, you must live in England, be aged 16-25 and have already successfully completed a vfifty award.

As well as completing another 100 hours of volunteering, you'll need to plan and evaluate your work, and share the story of what you've achieved.

If you're already volunteering, you can use up to 25 hours which you've already done before starting work on the award - as long as you didn't use these hours for your vfifty award.

The award is broken down into four main sections:

  1. Plan it: Before you start, you'll need to plan what you want to achieve through your volunteering, how you'll benefit the community and use and develop your skills. This will involve talking to people about you, your skills and your project, and setting yourself goals.
  2. Do it: Complete 100 hours of volunteering on one or two volunteering projects within 12 months.
  3. Review it: A chance to reflect and get feedback from others about what you’ve achieved through your volunteering, and record the skills you've used to achieve your goals.
  4. Tell others: Your chance to promote your achievements and share your story to help inspire others to volunteer.

To get the most out of the vimpact award, choose one volunteering project where you’d like to make a difference. However, if you'revolunteering on more than one project, it may be helpful to think about undertaking similar volunteering activities. For example, you might decide that they’d like to make a positive impact on the environment – you could then choose to volunteer for a conservation charity and a recycling project. You would not need to complete the different sections of vimpact award twice online. Instead, your answers for each section should take both of your volunteering projects into consideration.
