Union Council 09/10
There are 19 elected Union Councillors (including the Sabbs) here at York St John Students' Union.
These guys are here to represent YOU. Every year we have a cross campus elections, to make sure YOU, elect who you feel will do the best job. We have a unique and diverse bunch of students here, hopefully you will find a Union Councillor that represents you, if not get in touch with the Sabbatical officers. Abi Bucknell
Ethics and environment: to promote the integration and awareness of ethical and environmental issues into everyday student life.
What is your favourite animal?: Camel.
Best song of all time?: MR BRIGHTSIDE.
Favourite superpower?: Hangover Immunity.
Dan Risdale
As Equality and Diversity Officer I make sure that everyone has fair access to take part in all union activities and make sure that all students are represented and have there voices heard.
Favourite Colour? - Blue
Favourite Superpower? - Telekinesis - (Moving objects with your mind, awesome or what.)

Hannah Moyes
As faculty rep my role involves attending council meeting and faculty meeting to represent to views of the student from the business and communications faculty.
Favourite colour?: All blues
Middle name?: Its a mystery even to me
Favourite superpower?: Freezing time
Jennifer Pollard
As Communications Officer I am responsible for all union to student communications such as the website, newspaper and possibly radio and TV network
What is your favourite colour?: BLACK OR RED OR GREEN OR PURPLE
Best song of all time?: THROUGH GLASS - STONE SOUR, LOVE WALKED IN - THUNDER, BOY WTH THE ARAB STRAP - BELLE AND SABASTIAN
Ketchup or brown sauce?: KETCHUP, ALL THE WAY, GOES WITH EVERYTHING
Joe Wainman
RAG Officer: To co-ordinate a group of people to raise as much money as possible for numerous different charities though various events and collections.
Favourite superpower?: To fly although it’s not a very useful power it would be pretty cool.
Pepsi or cola?: Pepsi, except at xmas, coz then its always coca-cola!
Best memory?: Winning my role as Rag officer on the Union council
Robert Berry
HLS Faculty rep
I represent the needs of the HLS students with both the SU and the Faculty.
Daddy or chips?: Definitely chips
Favourite smell?: Fresh Tarmac
Favourite Pizza topping?: Pepperoni
Sam Hazeldine
QTS Faculty Rep: Student voice for all of the QTS Students. To be aware of, and explore issues specific to this specialist subject.
Ketchup or mayo?: full fat Heinz mayo all the way!
Sweet or savoury?: Depends whether its my biscuit or chess day.
Suzi Dougall
I am the Sports and Societies Officer. That basically means I liaise between all the sports and society chairs and the VPSA. I am there to support the work of the VPSA and help fundraise for organise the Sports & Societies dinner. (I am guessing that is my job, or something along those lines if you want to fill in any gaps!)
Best memory?: This summer spending 3 months in California doing a summer camp. A phenomenal experience!!!!
Last cried?: When I left some of my best friends in Las Vegas this summer

Tammy Downes
As Entertainments Officer, alongside our VPSA, I help to organise all the events that happen within the students union from freshers to summer ball; with the help of my Ents volunteers. I get to put on the events that you would like in your union.
Favourite colour?: Red
Favourite item of clothing?: My brown boots as people recognise me in them all the time
Best memory?: Is meeting the original UK cast of Jersey Boys after watching the show! I still don't shut up about it now!
Vicky Pitcher
I am Chair of Union Council which means I run the meetings, help create the agenda, ensure everything is in keeping with the union constitution and represent the students of York St. John in other committees.
Favourite superpower?: Is a toss up between being able to fly and being able to change how you look like Mystic is X-men.
Last time you cried?: Was when a friend told me he was gay and it was one of the sweetest moments I've ever had.
Best Song of all time?: is Phil Collins In the Air as it's impossible to turn over and has the ability to make me happy no matter what.
