Who are they and what do they do?
The Students' Union has three full-time elected officers, or Sabbaticals, who are responsible for the day to day operations of the Students' Union. They are elected annually, and act as the main Student Representatives. You can take a year out of your studies and become a Sabbatical Officer or take on the position after you have finished your studies.
This year the Sabbatical Officers have completed their studies and bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to their roles. They work for you, the students, and are always available to answer your queries and questions so just grab one of them and pick their brains!

Jason Wallis - President My role is to co-ordinate the activities of the Sabbatical team and Executive Committee. I am also the public representative of the Students' Union at University, local and national levels. I sit on various University Committees and liaise with key YSJ personnell to ensure that any decision made reflects the best interests of students. Katie Knowles - Vice President: Education and Welfare My role within the Students' Union concerns all issues relating to academic support and student welfare. This includes supporting students' educational needs within the University and dealing with issues relating to accommodation, finance and health awareness. Gary Milner - Vice President Student Activities
My role is to co-ordinate all the activities you take part in. I am responsible for helping to co-ordinate RAG's (Raise and Give) charity work and Student Volunteering as well as the START (STudent Accreditation, Recreation and Training) programme. In addition I co-ordinate alongside many committees to organise the clubs and societies we run at the Students' Union and entertainment's which the Students' Union organises throughout the year including the big finale for the year, the Summer Ball.
